Jonathan sang Amazing Grace, and Prayer for You -- credit -- Jonathan McEuen and Jesse Siebenberg (Supertramp)
'I know you won't be comin'
back this way again, so I'll say
a prayer for you.'

Jeff featured Jonathan in many of the VOICE issues and covers, including his cover photo of Jonathan on the final Dec. 28 issue of Jeff's VOICE. Over the years Jeff supported many other musicians from before the very beginnings of the Cafe Voltaire -"Village" era in Ventura.
Remember Voltaire ? It was one of Jeff's favorite places. Todd Winokur's Cafe Voltaire was an extraordinarily creative venue for many talented musicans and artists during Ventura's cultural renaissance. These performers included Hippie Mark, Jimmy Adams, Jonathan Raffetto, Phil Salazar, Mary and Dan Wilson, Alan Thornhill, and many others. Jeff loved the grass roots sense of community that was integral to the downtown area of Ventura.

Jeffrey W. San Marchi, publisher, editor, writer, photographer, and photo editor of the Ojai & Ventura VOICE. Jeff did it all with a little help from his friends !
Jeff was an enthusiastic supporter of local musicians, and artists. In the early 1970s Jeffrey started his own club in Santa Barbara called Tin Can Alley on State Street. The club featured live music and good food. Eventually Jeff sold the club and it went on to become Santa Barbara's famous Boudelaire's.

Jonathan McEuen's 'M.O. Town' Studio Opening
|
Jonathan's superspectacular Feb. 15 grand opening for his Meiners Oaks multimedia-cultural center and studio was attended by a large crowd of fans, friends and funky party crashers. Good things are "happening" at the Meiners Oaks creative enclave. Stop by for a friendly visit. The studio is fronted by Ksenia McEuen's art which is right down from the organic restaurant, The Farmer and the Cook.
Upbeat down the street, where the pulse of the city is still vibrant with the grassroots energy of the working people who comprise the community of 'M.O. Town.' There's more soul in downtown Meiners than there is in UPtown Ojai!
"We are the action !"
-- Jonathan McEuen
| Special Thanks to the musicians and creative crew who put it all together: April Hendrix, Mark Highlove, Brendan James, Nathan McEuen, Kirsten McMaster and Chad, Mary M. Long, Chris Olds, Rick O'Shay, Greg Weiser, and everyone who came to celebrate the opening. |
